Window Frosting

Known also as etch and manifestation this is a cost-effective way to obscure vision through the external and internal glass whilst still allowing the majority of light to be transmitted.

Frosting also serves a purpose for health and safety. Under the Building Regulations Document K, often referred to by architects as the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), you have a legal obligation to ensure full height glazing panels are visible to all, including those with impaired vision. We are happy to send you the details and diagrams of the required placement.

Clients can choose to have logos and text cut out of the surface to create subtle branding, or we can apply vinyl graphics over the top to create more striking designs.

Printing designs onto frost is our speciality. Other options for glass can be found on our Window Graphics page.

Costs

The cost of frosting is calculated mainly based on the surface area, complexity, and installation. By measuring your windows and indicating the desired amount of graphics, we can quickly provide you with a quote. Solid areas of frost are the most cost-effective option, but if you want shapes, text, or additional graphics printed or overlaid, we just need a basic visual of your goal to provide a quote.

Most of our clients prefer that we send a professional to fit the graphics for them, but we are happy to advise you on how to tackle the work yourself if you prefer. Our team is always available to help. Whether you are looking for a quote or have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
